The Story Behind Moaaz Kassem
I am Moaaz Kassem, born and raised in Egypt.
I studied German studies at Cairo University and have been living in St. Gallen, Switzerland with my family for many years.
My passion is language.
Language connects people – in the classroom, in conversations, and in everyday situations.

My Professional Background
I am Moaaz Kassem. In 2009, I graduated with honors in German Studies from Al-Azhar University, and my dream was to become a German teacher in Switzerland or Germany.
In 2011, I moved to Switzerland and completed a one-year pedagogical preparatory program at ZHAW to be recognized as a certified German teacher.
Since then, I have worked in various fields:
- I worked as a translator at a leading rehabilitation clinic for Arabic-speaking patients.
- I served as an interpreter for the police, courts, and authorities of the Canton of St. Gallen.
- Since November 2014, I have been working as a German teacher at Migros Klubschule St. Gallen, with over 3,000 hours of teaching and around 1,000 successful students.
- I founded a certified translation office for official documents between Arabic ↔ German.

We offer German lessons for Arabic speakers and Arabic lessons for German speakers.

The lessons can take place online or on-site in Eastern Switzerland.

German: A1–C1
Arabic: Modern Standard Arabic or Egyptian dialect
Lessons are individual or in small groups
